We do have building permits data.

Note that the data through Builty, a dataset included in Dewey Data, is scraped from public websites and doesn't cover many areas well, though it does cover 70% of the largest 30 US MSAs at this time.  E.g., for New Jersey, only two counties (Bergen and Cape May) are included as of March 2026.
