Princeton has access to 451 Research Data Center Knowledge Base (2014 to 2025 + Current Quarter Q1-2026).   Connect to Global Protect to access since on the DSS servers.  Data can only be used for academic research at Princeton and cannot be used for commercial or investment purposes including internships.  This is considered the most comprehensive dataset on Data Centers.  Data starts in 2015 and is currently through Q1 of 2026.  We are contracted to receive semiannual updates for this year and next.

The 451 Research Data Center Knowledge Base is a comprehensive global database encompassing over 13,000+ data center facilities, including Hyperscale, Leased, Crypto, colocation, and wholesale data centers. Spanning 130 countries and 439 markets, this resource captures over 100 data points per facility, offering detailed site-level information from over 2,000 providers.

This dataset provides a current snapshot and historical tracking of facility and market-level capacity and utilization, enabling users to analyze past, present, and future datacenter growth. It facilitates the evaluation of energy supply and demand dynamics, including the impact on energy, ESG, cloud, and critical infrastructure markets.
