Princeton University Library holds a collection of Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps of New Jersey. Our online maps tool allows you to explore all of the digitized maps in the public domain.
If you need a map that is still under copyright or you have two options:
Option 1: You can view the map in person by creating a researcher account and then getting in touch through the Ask Us! form so that we can arrange to have the map delivered to the Special Collections reading room in Firestone Library.
Option 2: Request a high quality scan of select pages from select maps for research purposes. You can place this request by sending a request through the Ask Us! form. Please note that our current time estimate for digitization is 6+ months.
If you need maps from another state, we recommend you check the Library of Congress catalog for their holdings of Sanborn Maps.
