To learn more about the content of the collections at Princeton University Special Collections, please search the Princeton University Finding Aids website and Princeton University Catalog

As the researcher, you are more apt to recognize if some materials interest you in comparison to others and may also find other items/subject terms that interest you that you might not have considered previously. You can search for phrases, words, or dates within these features and can refine by online access, repository, topic, subject, and collection. To search within a finding aid for a specific collection, use the search bar underneath the title, or browse by using the collapsible menu on the left side of the screen.

To narrow search results within the catalog, please use the “Library” filter on the left-hand side of the page and select “Special Collections.”

Because not all material can be cataloged or described with every possible research question in mind, you may need to identify material that is described as being broadly related to your topic and then explore that material further (either in person or via digital surrogates) to see if it is relevant to your pursuit.
